The minion® measures vibration speed and acceleration to detect imbalances, shocks, and changes in bearings early. Additionally, monitor the surface temperature of your machines for precise condition analysis.
The mobile network gateway of the minion® enables secure and continuous communication, regardless of existing networks. Via LTE-M or NB-IoT, the captured data is transmitted directly to the cloud of your choice. This way, you always have your sensitive data in view. A localization function and a connection to the smartphone via Bluetooth complete the communication.
The battery of the minion® allows reliable and autonomous monitoring, even in hard-to-reach places. Thanks to efficient energy management, the system solution functions uninterruptedly, without regular maintenance or external power connection.

Yes. In addition to the one-off hardware investment, operating an IoT solution with minion incurs ongoing costs, for example for:
- the connected cloud platform
- the mobile network connection
You can choose to pay these operating costs:
- monthly,
- annually (with a 10% discount), or
- as a 3‑year prepaid option (with a 20% discount).
We can say with confidence that, thanks to the use of the mobile network, the running costs of a minion IoT sensor are very low compared with the costs of maintaining an IP address in local networks. We also offer a dedicated cloud instance from €5 per month – from our point of view it can hardly get any cheaper. Do you know a better price? Feel free to let us know.
The intervals for measuring and transmitting the data can be freely configured via the cloud. The measurement interval can be set anywhere from once per second up to once per day. The transmission interval can be set from once per minute up to once per week. Measurements are always carried out independently of data transmission and are temporarily stored on the device. In this way, a longer battery life can be achieved.
The rule of thumb here is: the more frequently measurements are taken and data is sent, the shorter the battery life. In the factory settings, the measurement interval is once per hour and the transmission interval is once per day.
To improve the real-time capability of the system, the minion IoT sensor uses several edge functions that run locally on the hardware and allow immediate alarms in the event of a problem. You will find a detailed description of this in the operating manual for the MV001 under the keywords Alarmfunktion and Wake‑Up.
Yes, minion IoT sensors and io-key gateways work hand in hand in your autosen.cloud or via MQTT in your own cloud.
Very easily. All minion sensors are supplied with a primary mounting device, for example an M5 screw in the case of the MV001. In addition, we offer mounting accessories such as magnetic or adhesive adapters to allow the devices to be securely fixed to almost any surface.
Yes – the minion is also suitable for outdoor use. Thanks to protection class IP67, the device is reliably protected against dust and temporary immersion and can therefore be used outdoors without any problems. In addition, the minion operates independently of a fixed power supply and monitors measuring points even in hard‑to‑reach or remote locations.
Note: For permanent outdoor use, the following factors should also be taken into account:
- temperature range
- UV resistance
- installation location, and
- mobile network coverage.
The minion IoT sensors use special, highly penetrative machine‑to‑machine mobile networks. This often enables a stable signal even where smartphones already have no service. The devices always select the strongest network from the LTE CatM1 or NB‑IoT technologies and connect to it automatically. If one of our devices has trouble finding a network, we can use the “minion IoT‑Sensor” app to debug and provide support to get your device online.
The minion IoT‑Sensor device app can be downloaded from the iOS App Store and the Android Google Play Store and provides a local support interface to the minion, for example to carry out firmware updates and to read device logs and parameters via Bluetooth.
