Description

Best optical performance in standard applications – can even be used in wet areas and in the food industry. Transmitter and receiver of the AO002 retro-reflective sensor are incorporated in one compact stainless steel housing. The red light emitted by the transmitter is reflected by a prismatic reflector and evaluated by the receiver integrated in the sensor. The decisive advantage of the use of a retro-reflective sensor with polarisation filter in combination with a prismatic reflector is that the probability of incorrect switching by highly reflective objects (e.g. reflective vests etc.) is minimised. The prismatic reflector focusses the light, turns it by 90° and then reflects it. The polarisation filter avoids that light beams other than those emitted by the sensor itself cause switching of the sensor. Even highly reflective metal objects can be detected since their reflection cannot pass the polarisation filter. The product features protection rating IP65, IP67, IP68 and IP69K and is thus suited for standard applications as well as the food industry and wet areas.
